WYOMING – According to the statement, his name is As’sher Pettry and he faces a charge of aggravated burglary.
Police say they found him and a friend breaking into cars in Evansville in March.
Pettry became armed during the burglaries after taking a handgun from an unlocked car.
The felony carries a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison, or up to $50,000 in fines.
Police found Pettry with a stolen handgun from one of the cars, as well as two phones, a bottle of prescription medication, a wallet, cash and various other small items.
