Casper, WY – Police officials released a statement saying that the Casper Police Department received a significant piece of its history—a leather-bound “Police Court Docket” dating back to 1904.
The valuable artifact was returned to the department by the Central Wyoming Rescue Mission and their Rescued Treasures Thrift Store, which had discovered it among donated items.
Central Wyoming Rescue Mission Executive Director Brad Hopkins and Rescued Treasures Manager Scauti Hillman presented the book to Chief McPheeters.
Outgoing Chief Keith McPheeters expressed gratitude for the recognition of the docket’s importance, saying, “The history of any organization is an important aspect of its culture and its future.
We are grateful to the staff of Rescued Treasures for recognizing the value of this heirloom, and we will ensure it is preserved with honor and dignity.”
