Coroner releases name of man who apparently drowned at Alcova over weekend

The Natrona County Coroner’s Office released the name of a man who apparently drowned while scuba diving at Alcova Reservoir over the weekend.

According to the coroner, the man is identified as Brian Keith Eldridge of Casper. Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy has been performed, they said.

No specific age has been given, but officials say he was in his 50s. The death is being investigated as a possible drowning.

The call for the possible drowning came in on Sunday, April 26, just before 11 a.m., according to the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office.

Eldridge was reportedly scuba diving with a group when the incident happened. Officials say he was removed from the water and rendered first aid until EMT arrived.

He was transported by air ambulance to the Wyoming Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead around noon.
