Audrey Roberts from Natrona County High School has decided to further her swimming career at the next level at Virginia Wesleyan University.
Roberts signed last Tuesday in a ceremony at NCHS in Casper.
She is a four-year letter winner in swimming for the Fillies and has qualified for the state meet all four years of her prep career. Roberts earned a qualifying time as an individual in the last three high school seasons.
In 2020, the senior was runner-up at the conference meet in the 200 freestyle and placed fifth in the 100 butterfly race.
Roberts achieved the qualifying time for this year’s state championships in five events. Those were the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 IM, and 100 fly. She swam in the 50 and 200 freestyle races at the 4A state championships on Nov. 5 and 6 in Laramie. Roberts also swam on a leg on all three relays for NCHS.
Virginia Wesleyan University is located in Norfolk, VA. The Marlins compete at the NCAA Division III level as part of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC). Roberts will swim for head coach Mike Ginder at VWU.
