The number of laboratory confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Wyoming has risen to 693 as of 8:43 am Sunday, May 31, according to the Wyoming Department of Health. That’s an increase of 5 from the 688 reported on Saturday.

Deaths related to COVID-19 remain at 16 in the state.

WDH reports 63 cases in Natrona County, up 1 since Saturday. The Casper-Natrona County Health Department has not yet announced or released details on case #63. Natrona County has 14 probable cases.

Statewide, probable cases of COVID-19 remain at 210, the same number as on Saturday.

“Probable Cases include a total count of people who are identified to be a close contact to a laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 case AND develop symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days, but are not tested. This count includes probable cases that have recovered,” the WDH says.

As of 8:43 am Sunday, 658 people were considered recovered, including 502 with a confirmed case.

54 in Natrona County were considered recovered as of Sunday, including 43 with a lab confirmed case.

“A case is defined as recovered when there is resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and there is improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g. cough, shortness of breath) for 72 hours AND at least 7 days have passed since symptoms first appeared,” says the WDH.

Testing data had not been updated Sunday morning. As reported on Saturday, 23,191 tests have been completed in Wyoming, about half of which (11,833) were completed at Wyoming Public Health Labs. 2,524 tests have been completed overall in Natrona County, 4.0% of which have tested positive.
